AI psychosis isn't a clinical term (yet), but it’s a phrase people use—sometimes seriously, sometimes half-jokingly—to describe mental disorientation or distress triggered by intense or prolonged interaction with AI systems, especially language models or generative media.

• Derealization from talking to AI (“Is this real or am I just inside a machine’s simulation of reality?”), Identity loops or spirals (“Who am I if an AI can imitate me? Finish my poems? Know my shadow parts?”), Conspiracy or paranoia triggered by AI (“The AI knows too much. It’s watching me. It’s part of something larger.”), Blurring reality from AI-generated content (“I saw it in an AI video—was that real? Did that actually happen?”)
